The Last of the Shropshire Miners
A talk by Ivor J Brown, noted mining historian, to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the closure of the last Shropshire deep mine, Granville Colliery, and the laying up of the Shropshire Miners’ Banner. 
In the G F Williams Room, Long Warehouse, Coalbrookdale at 7.30pm.

Wednesday 8th July
Behind the Scenes at the new Blists Hill
A talk by Michael Vanns on the preparation and interpretation he undertook for the new exhibits at Blists Hill – Bricks et al. 
In the Glass Meeting Room, (Museum Offices) Coalbrookdale at 7.30pm.

Saturday 25th July
Coalbrookdale Festival and Old Furnace Opening –FE 09
Weekend of events including casting on site and the opening of a contemporary cast iron sculpture exhibition with displays of contemporary cast iron sculpture on the green and in Enginuity with input from UK and international artists.  Grand opening of revised interpretation and display of the Old Furnace.

AUGUST

Friday 7th, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th August
Ironworks celebration at Blists Hill Victorian Town - FE 09
A ‘forge in’ organised by the British Artist Blacksmith Association. Up to 150 blacksmiths from home and abroad working in the Blists Hill ironworks.

Sunday 16th August 
Family Fun Day, sponsored by The Friends of the Museums, at Blists Hill Victorian Town
A day with something for everyone, bring a picnic and a teddy for story telling at the teddy bears picnic, play Victorian games, join a team for a tug of war, complete our site trail and learn more about the Friends. Visit the Blacksmiths exhibition, watch the Kaleidoscope Theatre, visit the Victorian fairground or try on some Victorian costume and take a guided tour of the site.
Bring a picnic, and enjoy the day, a special event for Family members.

SEPTEMBER

Wednesday 23rd September
King George III: Revisionist view of his madness and his contributions to agriculture, the 'polite arts' and science, a talk by Professor Timothy Peters.

Wednesday 7th October
‘Telford Then and Now’ – a Friends 40th Anniversary Event.
A talk by Richard Bifield showing Telford in the 60s when the ‘Friends of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum’ was first formed.

40th Anniversary Celebration Annual Luncheon
